  • Bootable HSDPA stick Hi, I have had an idea to try and install a customised bootable version of Ubuntu on the cdfs partition (HSDPA K3565 or a HSPUA MF112 stick).

In theory, I would end-up with a read only version of the os plus a storage (on the sd card) for the home partition and usable modem.

Can anyone see any problems or give advices on this setup?

Also, I am intrested in looking to incorporate this stick with an Astrix PBX server (not sure what services could be included with this setup!)

    Any ideas are greatfully received.

  • Multiple Modem RSSI Monitor?? Hi All,
We have a requirement for a windows application that can monitor multiple RSSI data in graph form along with Operator and Technology info. To be used as a separate application along with Mobile Partner, and needs to run concurrently by creating virtual ports or something, graphically simple and can live on the bottom toolbar and be resized to suit. Anybody know of such an application, if not is anyone prepared to write it, on an ongoing royalty basis.??

    Many Thanks

    Steve

  • SMS center faulty - not changeable in k3765perm23092010.rar debranding Hi guys,

I recently noticed, that the k3765perm23092010 debranding won't send SMS with any of my SIM cards. I suspect the number of the SMS center is wrong and I can't find any menu to change the SMS center number.

Do you have an idea how to solve this? I suppose there's some SMS plugin that needs to be activated to make the SMS center settings visible.

    regards,

    Inquisitor

  • firmware or dashboard for "k3765perm2309201"??? Hi friends,
first of all, thank you very much for your very good site and work done regarding the K3765 updates.
I've done your first debranding (permanent) procedure correctly but I noticed that point n.2 (# reflash your K3765-HV with the following firmware: k3765perm23092010.rar) it's not a firmware update but it's the dashboard update. Thanking you and this update I finally solved the switching problem with the previous version! Thank you all very much again! :) Regards,CS

    [ http://www.sakis3g.org/ ] - try the binary Version with latest usb-modeswitch included !
U must run the script with admin rights (sudo) and maybe disable the Gnome Network-Control panel during 3G session...

  • resolution issues with modified Mobile Partner on netbooks (1024*600) Hey folks,

I really appreciate your work regarding the development of the debranding update for the K3765.

However I'm facing the problem of Mobile Partner being larger than the available screen size on my netbook, which has 1024*600 pixels. So with the current height of 600px the task bar covers part of Mobile Partner - unfortunately the area where the network information is displayed.

So if you guys get round to an update, would you be so kind and modify the height in C:\Program Files\Mobile Partner\plugins\XFramePlugin\Config.xml to 550px as given below:
    [windowsize name="xframe" width="900" height="550" minwidth="900" minheight="480"/]

Further the USSD-plugin is useless as it won't work with any Huawei modem I've seen so far. I think it would be better to remove it by deleting the following line in C:\Program Files\Mobile Partner\config\PluginsConfig.xml:
    [item name="USSDUIPlugin" clsid="6ADFE6DA-E212-4087-8466-043AB06DF4EB"/]

Of course I would appreciate even more if you revealed the secret of creating your own update, so I could make the proposed modifications by my own.

    Thanks!

  • original Huawei driver 3.09 is recognizing the K3765 stick doesn´t work after updated dashboard on another PC/laptop (where plugged in for the first time)

you need original Huawei driver Version 3.09 (Windows Driver for(3.09.00.00)) for the K3765

  • @heinzpeter000 regarding drivers Heinz-Peter, you recently added the following wrong information to the Wiki:

"The included driver will not replace the required Vodafone driver to switch the stick to modem modus. So on new devices you have to install first the Vodafone driver, before getting Mobile Partner working. (required Vodafone driver are also included in this packet http://www.vodafone.de/downloadarea/setup_vmc_9.4.9.22273.exe. After installation you can uninstall the software, the required driver remain.)"

This is definitely wrong. The instructions explicitly explain, that the "K3765_K4505_Ultimate_Dashboard_UTPS16.001.06.01.500" update includes working drivers for the K3765, although these are unsigned and require manual confirmation during installation.
I've tested this three times on different computer last week, where on all three computers neither VMC nor Mobile Partner had ever been installed before.
You either have installed another updated than the one given above or some software issues on your computer if it doesn't work for you.

  • Anyone tried the E1550-firmware update on the K3765-HV? I think the firmware update for the E1550 contains drivers also for the newer Huawei modems, which are not supported by the drivers included in the updates for the E160, E169 etc.

So has anyone tried to flash his K3765-HV with the following update?

  • Debranding Vodafone K3565 Rev2 I got an unlock code off Ebay for my Vodafone USB stick but unlocking proved a bit harder than when I had a Three modem. Thought the followiong might be of help to anyone who has an unlock code for their USB stick but can't find a way of entering it!

    1. The Vodafone Connect Lite software on the K3565 Rev 2 (a Vodafone branded Huawei E160 modem) will not allow other network SIM cards in it. Windows just won’t recognise the modem. Running Mobile Partner also does not work.
    2. You have to remove the Vodafone software by installing Huawei Mobile Partner on it using the firmware update here: http://www.huawei.com/mobileweb/en/file/download.do?f=41470&ctype=1
    3. If you want to continue to use Vodafone software you may want to copy it to your PC, or onto an SD memory card in the modem stick for later use.
    4. Insert the USB modem with its Vodafone SIM still installed. If you haven’t installed it before, allow the drivers to be installed.
    5. Close down the Vodafone Connect Lite application. Run the Huawei software (this works on a Windows XP machine but a Windows 7 machine would not run the software successfully). It will install Mobile partner onto the stick and remove the Vodafone software. This takes a minute or so.
    6. Remove the USB modem and put in a different provider’s SIM card
    7. Re-insert the USB modem to your PC. If you don’t already have Mobile Partner installed, allow it to install now. Open it and you should be prompted for your unlock code. Enter the code and voila, all done.
    8. If you have both Mobile Partner and Vodafone Connect Lite installed on your computer you can connect to Vodafone using either (Vodafone software allows you to check your credit remaining if you have PAYG contract) but if you want to connect to another network you will have to use Mobile Partner as the Voda software will not allow changes to the APN.
