Unlock/Debrand the Mi-fi(Huawei E5830)from 3UK?

Hi, my friend just bought me a Mi-fi (Huawei E5830) from 3UK through the Pay As You Go plan. He said the sales person said that as long as I am within the 3 international network, I can even use a 3HK SIM (SIM from 3 Hong Kong) to get online. However, I cant get online when I insert the 3HK card, but I can get a roaming internet connection when I insert the 3UK PAYG card. Is there anything I need to set? or the modem is locked? If it is locked, can I debrand/unlock it by updating the "Mobile Partner" from other Huawei modem? Thx a lot for your help!

My sister also has the same problem when she came back to HK last week. It is too costly to using roaming data connection, so she decide to ask 3UK after she go back to UK next month.

I just used the Huawei Firmware update from Brightpoint (see: http://blog.brightpointuk.co.uk/huawei-e5-e5830-e5832-imo-firmware-updat...) but although the update ran without errors, I seem to still have version 666... Anyone else found this, and got a fix? 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

i briked my huavei e5832 this E5838Update_716.11.17.07.108SP02 wirmvare,now it dasnt turn on :( my pc not detecting it any way,help me how can i get it work?
